Owlright, here we go. Ha, just thought of that.
I have been semi-trying to start this thing since April or May, but I am a very busy girl.
Yesterday was a very productive day, so I decided that now is the time.
I have been putting off riding my bike for…well, almost two years, but really since I moved in with Justin on May 15th. Well, long story short, I got the bike, filled up the tires, and Greg fixed the crooked seat. So! I’m good to go! No excuses!
When I got home from work, I went for a ride. We live at the bottom of several hills, so I just rode around the area seeing which hills were doable at this time. I felt great other than some wobbly legs.
After I walked my bike back up the hill and into the garage, I was told that Gamora was running around playing with toys. This might seem like a normal thing for a cat to do, but up until this point, I believed she was crippled from a fight with another creature the night before (Justin’s fault…just throwing that out there). She had been limping the night before and earlier that day. Turns out, not only is she the toughest woman in the universe, she is the biggest drama feline around. When she was around me, she would limp, but while I was in the other room, she was just fine. What a bee. Although, I did give her bacon for lunch…maybe that had something to do with it.
Now that I have scorned my kitty, I started thinking about the mess I left in the garage earlier in the week. I bought a dresser from my neighbor awhile back and have been trying to strip the seven layers of paint off so it looks decent when I paint it to match my future bedroom. I was working on it Sunday night, but then Greg came over and I just never got back to finish or pick up the pounds of paint left on the garage floor. side bar: I got biodegradable stripper that worked great and smelled fantastic. The liquid just evaporates, so leaving it out actually helped clean up significantly. So, I got to work on getting the last 2 or 2.5 layers of paint off. Justin worked on his future herb garden, which was much easier than he thought it was going to be. It was nice to be working on two different projects, but still able to hang out. I got all the paint off except from the wood on the front and on the sides of the drawers, which I can just sand down. I can’t wait to get the paint on it. I got a nice green color with some brown for either the top or the drawers.
After working outside forEVER! We needed some nourishment. We just threw a pizza and some fries in the oven and showered off all the grime from the icky outside. After hanging out in the basement for a minute, I started on my dad’s birthday present. I was planning on buying him something, but I couldn’t think of anything I liked enough. My dad used to live in Antarctica, and somehow, that led to an adoration of penguins. Or maybe the two are completely unrelated. Anyway, I decided to crochet him a penguin. I made one for my little brother for Christmas and my dad really liked it. It took me about two hours to crochet the body, tummy, and wings. I made the eyes, beak, feet, and a base so he could stand up out of clay. I didn’t have a camera, but he turned out great. I dropped him off this morning on my way to work.
Wow. I guess I started with a bang. This is much longer than I anticipated. I really enjoy talking about myself, but geez! This is just one day, they had better not all be like this.
I will talk at you in the future!
J-Fer
